Special olympicS monroe
Special Olympics Monroe County offers all its training and competition opportunities free of charge to its athletes and families. This program exits through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations that believe in helping others. Contributions are needed to offer athletic, developmental, health and social opportunities to our athletes
There are a number of ways to contribute to Special Olympics:
Most importantly, when you help an athlete, everyone wins. Special Olympics programs help athletes do better at school, home, work or in the community. Athletes develop their self-esteem to overcome a variety of life’s challenges.
The Special Olympics, like any non-profit, volunteer-driven organization, is in need of financial support. It is important to understand that the athletes do not pay anything to participate. All funds raised go directly toward benefiting its athletes of Special Olympics Monroe County. All coaches and helpers involved are volunteers. Although they will tell you the best payment is the fulfillment that comes with working with these athletes. Funds raised to support the program cover fees for practice sites, regional and state competition, uniforms, equipment and transportation. Your contribution will help us continue this very worthwhile activity.
Contributions, of any amount are appreciated. Please make checks payable to “Monroe County Special Olympics” and write the word “Sponsor” in the memo line.
